growing sunflower

There are two types of sunflowers, known as dwarf and tall sunflowers, the tall sunflower being the most traditional and the most requested.

The tall sunflower can reach about 1.80 meters, so it is more advisable to plant it in external areas.

The Dwarf sunflower, on the other hand, reaches a maximum height of 60cm and therefore, it can be grown in vases and indoors.

Depending on the species, the planting site is very important, in the case of the tall sunflower, the land is properly fertilized with organic materials.

In the case of Dwarf sunflower, when grown in pots, attention should be paid to the size, as it must be greater than 20 cm, for the best development of the plant.

It is indicated to line the vase with some material to help with drainage, such as stones, gravel or charcoal.

seed preparation

In order to have an assertive planting, the preparation of the seeds has to be done properly, because if planted directly in the soil, it runs the risk of not germinating.

Knowing this, the seeds have to stay at least 48 hours before planting, place them on a paper towel, sprinkle with water and fold.

Check during the day to see if the seeds have started to germinate, as soon as you notice the signs of germination, they can move on to planting.

Watering sunflowers is very important for their growth, sunflowers need to be watered every two days in the initial period.

Once adults, they can be watered twice a week or when the soil looks dry.

The solar incidence is another important factor, the sunflower has to be exposed to the sun at least 4 hours a day.

And with that, your sunflower plantation will grow healthy and make your environment prosperous and happy.

So, now that you know how to grow sunflowers, how about separating all the necessary materials and starting your cultivation.
