Portugal is the 8th favorite destination for Europeans, according to Mastercard

Portugal is one of the favorite destinations for Brazilians who want to live outside the national scene. By sharing the same language, adaptation is faster. However, not only Brazilians love the place.

The European country, which has just over 10 million inhabitants, is quite an attraction for citizens of other European countries who want to walk around the Iberian region.

The preference for the land of Camões is statistically proven through a survey carried out by Mastercard, which states that Portugal is the eighth favorite tourist destination for tourists Europeans.

The survey promoted by Mastercard is the Travel Industry Trends 2023, whose objective is to show which are the places that tourists are prioritizing.

In the January version, Portugal ranked eighth. The first country was the United Kingdom, followed by Spain and Italy, which make up the top three positions. Interestingly, the U.S were the only place outside Europe that figured among common tourist destinations in the Old Continent.

In turn, the February version has only one change: the last country on the list is no longer Ireland, but Sweden. The three positions remained intact and Portugal remained in eighth position.

What are the favorite destinations for travelers in Latin America?

According to the March 2023 chart, the United States appears, far above the others, as the favorite country for visitors from Latin America and the Caribbean.

Then we have Canada and UK. Then, a wave of Spanish-speaking countries, reaching Germany, and ending with two other countries that speak the language prevalent in Latin America, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
