China breaks record with launch of 41 satellites in single space mission

China set a milestone by launching the Long March 2D rocket with 41 satellites, reaching the highest number ever sent in a single mission.

The launch took place at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, expanding on achievements Chinese spacecraft after sending a crew to the space station in orbit and with plans to explore the Moon by the end of decade.

These satellites will play a key role in providing commercial remote sensing and technology verification services.

The Jilin-1 series, with 36 satellites on board, is a major milestone, being China's first self-developed commercial remote sensing satellite system. The launch of the Long March 2D rocket marked the 476th mission in the series.

China broke new space launch records

China has reached a significant milestone, with the Jilin-1 satellite constellation passing the 100 remote sensing satellite mark.

This achievement establishes the country's first commercial constellation with more than 100 satellites in this category. According to Xinhua reports, the first Jilin-1 satellite was launched in 2015, weighing 420 kilograms.

Over the past eight years, China has managed to reduce the weight of these satellites to just 22 kilograms, demonstrating significant advances in terms of technology and efficiency.

The country's rapid conquests in the space and technology sector have generated a growing rivalry with Western nations, especially its biggest rival, the United States.

Recently, the Bloomberg report stated that the US Space Force has been preparing to launch its own constellation of satellites with the aim of monitoring space vehicles from Russia and China, which could pose threats to objects in orbit.

According to the Bloomberg report, the project called Silent Barker consists of positioning satellites in geosynchronous orbit, approximately 35,400 kilometers above the Earth, with a speed that would correspond to the rotation of the planet.
